UNITED WAY OF MARION COUNTY’S CEO, SCOT QUINTEL, WILL RESIGN AT THE END OF AUGUST

Scot is Set to Lead the City of Ocala and Marion County’s Office for Homelessness

OCALA, FL - August 8, 2022 - Scot Quintel, the CEO of United Way of Marion County, submitted his letter of resignation to Greg Harrell as Chair of the Board, which will take effect at the end of August. Quintel is to take a position as Continuum of Care Manager with the Marion County Government where he will lead the City and County’s joint office for homelessness.

Quintel is firmly committed to the issue of addressing and reducing homelessness and is eager for the opportunity to approach this in the community.

Quintel has sustained a 24-year career with United Way and has dedicated over the last eight years to serving Marion County. Under his leadership, the Strong Families program was launched. This program has assisted over 300 families in Marion County to obtain the skills needed to end generational poverty.

“This (Marion County) has truly become home, and there is no place else I would rather be,” Quintel stated.

Greg Harrell, Marion County Clerk of the Court and United Way of Marion County Board Chair, recognized Scot’s commitment to Marion County as a leader impacting the ability of families to become self-sufficient.

United Way of Marion County’s Board of Directors and staff are thrilled for Quintel and look forward to further collaborating with him as he enters his new role with the County.

In the coming weeks, United Way’s Board of Directors will announce their plans to fill the next CEO position.
